What would you like to include in our assembly presentation about Japan? Try to do a bit of research.
This week, we learnt about money. We estimated how much different items cost, calculated percentage increases and worked with our puppets to try and be persuasive. Today, we had a great day learning about the Bloodhound SSC, with help of staff and students from UWE. We learnt about 3d printing, built our own rocket cars, used netbooks to explore sensors on a car and took a look at the model of the Bloodhound SSC. At the end, some of Year 5 had the chance to try out the simulator. Next week, we'll be having Money Week again. Year 5 will be looking at saving, credit and debit cards, loans, interest rates and prices. We'll revise 'needs and wants' and the different ways of dealing with money. Additionally, Year 6 will be trying to build their businesses up at their market, so remember to support them in this. Remember that we'll be having a focus on history in the first week back. If you are feeling bored, try to find out a bit about the Middle Ages during the holidays. What could you do with a stick? We spent most of the last day of this term creating our picture books about "sticks", based on 'Stanley's Stick'. Everyone is now finished with the writing, but the pictures still need a bit of work. We'll get on to that in the first week back.
